The Best Roses for the Least Effort.
A Quick List of the Most Generous and Robust Roses We've Grown.
I saw a post today from Catriona Rowntree sharing how she considers herself a black thumb, as opposed to a green thumb, meaning she is not the greatest gardener and how a bouquet of roses she was sharing from her garden for a friend contained the ones she had found the most easy. Many I grow, or have grown, and agree to their ease but it got me thinking if I had to make a bouquet of the easiest roses I’ve ever grown that have given me the most across both Little Oak cottage garden and the Moorfield rose garden, what would they be? This is not my Top 10 Roses or even my Top 20, or even my “If I could only grow 5” as I’ve shared in our Rose Guides because all of those lists contain roses that might require a bit extra love but I think they’re worth it. This quick list are the roses that have been healthy, generous all season long and thrived even when they’ve been a little neglected now and then because…..well, life, it is not all roses, unfortunately. So here goes…..
Delicious!!
Thank you for your posts and beautiful list of roses. I also saw Catriona’s beautiful bunch and wondered why I never see the rose Princess Charlene de Monaco listed? I saw two in an open garden last year and think they might be a great addition to the new garden I will plant in Spring. 🙏
