A Garden Gadabout Gallery
Open Gardens Victoria visits Spring, Summer and Autumn 2022 - 2023
Dear Readers,
It has taken me quite some time to collate these images that I took so many of, so long ago and put them into something I could share of what has been one of the most exciting things as a gardener about our move to Victoria, incidently known as the ‘Garden State’, our ability to take part in Open Gardens Victoria . There is talk that Moorfield too, will become part of their future programming which is very exciting and we can’t wait to open her up to the public so you can all see firsthand, the development of the garden, that’s making you follow online.
In this album, open to all readers, I have compiled a collection, a rather extensive one I’ll admit but when have I ever done anything in halves, of my favourite images of the beautiful gardens we’ve visited with OGV in the last 20 odd months of calling this great state of gardening folk, home. I have done my best to capture their beauty and our exploration and enjoyment of them while sometimes in the harshest and hardest time of day to shoot them, while the gardens are full to bursting with fellow garden lovers and I try to eke out images through crowds where the garden and plants themselves are the focus, where it looks like we have these wonderlands of talented greenthumbs, all to ourselves.
Yet it must be said, part of what we have enjoyed most about partaking is seeing the joy they bring to all who go and see them, to see how gardening speaks to those from all walks of life, all ages and all levels of skill, a love of making them and being in them, that brings us together to spend time in the spaces of someone else’s creation, their personal garden sanctuaries. It is always a great privilege to be allowed in.
There are many gardens that we never got to see but would’ve loved to, and I so look forward to squeezing in as many as I can in the next 12 months and sharing them with you in a years time once again in a similar Garden Gadabout Gallery for all to scroll through. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy what we captured from the gardens we visited 2022/23 Spring, Summer and Autumn.
Thank you to OGV, and all their volunteers and garden makers who so generously open up these worlds for us all to see and be inspired by.

Thank you. Hopefully you enjoyed this Garden Gadabout Gallery of the Open Gardens Victoria we attended last year, and earlier this year. I will be publishing a Garden Gadabout Feature next week, of a garden I am visiting and it’s creator, who I am interviewing to get their insights into their process and passions, challenges and learnings. I look forward to bringing that to you.
And as always, thank you again for being here. Pip and family xo
Absolutely Wonderful photos Pip, capturing the essence, beauty, inspiration and endless passionate hours in the various gardens
