The Glasshouse as it stands in early autumn behind the Cut Flower beds in the Veg Patch, ready for its glass to go in.

Dear Friends

Welcome to this months (Moor)Field Guide on this chilly morning where I sit by the fire and finish off what I hope is a good read for you all, we have had such lovely feedback on these monthly guides and on all we are doing here, in Substack Land.

Hearing you say, you look forward to settling down on your weekends and reading the various gardening guides including this one and the journals with a cosy cuppa makes my heart do a little dance. It is our absolute pleasure. When we hear that you are finding it helpful and using it for inspiration and know-how in your own garden, I could hug you all. It is a lot of work, yes but it is a true labour of love to share this process of building a large organic food and flower garden from scratch. So, thank you for being here, for supporting us to share what we do and how and why.

This month we are making use of the final months of warm soil to build new lasagne beds and get them breaking down and expand existing beds through plant propagation, watching the glasshouse that has sat flatpacked on our drive for two years become a real space I can now walk into…….and is almost ready for me to move into and enjoy a cuppa as I tinker with my seeds and tend to cuttings. It’ll bring a lot of joy.

Hoping this email finds you still tucked up in bed with a warm cuppa in hand or curled away into a favourite nook. I hope you get a lot out of this, as always and I hope your weekend is filled with your hands in the dirt 💚
