The (Moor)Field Guide: 4
End of Spring Late November 2023 - Poll Results, Irrigation, Plant Resus and Restorative Rain.....right when we really needed it.
Dear Readers,
As many of you now know, I come to you on this Sunday morning rather than a couple of days ago as I try to usually, as we have not been home in order to complete the (Moor)Field Guide.
The last three weeks we have spent in Sydney with my father-in-law who was admitted to hospital and while we thought he was coming good, and hopes were lifted, things took an unexpected turn and devastatingly, we lost him. It has been a heartbreaking blow to our family and especially for Hugo, his youngest son.
Moorfield has been the salve she always is and slowly we attempt to go back to life as it was before, yet weighed down by our loss. We have both spent the last few days since our return working in the garden, letting it work it’s healing ways on us and our bringing it back from a very hot, dry and windy 3 weeks, whereby my poor mum was left to try and keep things going by herself.
The last few weeks we lost here were meant for irrigation work which we talk about in this guide, for the last of the spring planting and TLC work in preparation for summer so now we sprint to try and catch back up. However, like the universe knew we needed to be cut a break, the heavens opened just as we arrived home and the urgency quelled, which is just what we needed.
So, it has been a horrible time but we are grateful we were able to be with family and so grateful to be able to return home to such a place as this, a home that seems to embrace everyone who enters.
Thank you for being here, your support truly means everything.
Pip, Hugo and family xo
