The (Moor)Field Guide: 7
Mid Summer, January 2024. Planning for Autumn in the Middle of Summer with Spring in Mind. A Dry Garden & Outdoor Kitchen Close Up. B & A's a Year On. Nessie's Oaks. Free Perennials and Tough Plants.
Dear Readers!
We are so happy to be welcoming you to the first (Moor)Field Guide for 2024! I am hoping this is either wiping your mind clear of the working week on your commute home, being enjoyed with a glass of something you love with your feet up or cosy in bed or your favourite nook with a morning cuppa. However you are choosing to get into this, I hope it entertains and informs and excites you out into a garden, yours or someone else’s, this weekend.
This time two years ago we were in the settlement period for Moorfield and our heads raced with all we could do here, once we finally got our hands on the keys and she was ours, our hearts still somewhat heavy from leaving behind our beloved Little Oak to heed the call of life and new adventures.
We have hit many a bump, and seismic pothole, on the way from that February in 2022 to be here in February 2024 able to share as we are, what we have done and what we are doing, and how and where we are headed. I am always amazed but especially lately, at how many people have made the commitment for another year and how many new people are joining us every day, caring enough to show up here and follow along.
To say we are grateful seems to fall short and we care, so very much, that you enjoy this space, learn a lot about what we do and why and how, be inspired hopefully and feel like you are part of a community because you are. Gardener’s make community wherever they go, even online. After all, that is how we even got to be here in the first place.
Thank you, Pip xo
Moorfield sits on the land of the Dja Dja Wurrung and we acknowledge, and respect, that her history stems back thousands of years, belonging to the oldest living culture on earth. She has a story long before this one we tell now and long before the marking out of her boundaries and giving of the name to which we refer to her now.
