First of all, sending all the very best of get-well messages to Pip. Flipping mandolins - they really are lethal. Second of all - I loved this, as I love all Moorfield's updates. It's lovely to hear your point of view, Hugo.
You've even got me thinking about Sally Holmes as a rose - I've always ignored her, but your post inspired me to go and do a bit of reading (like I need any encouragement to read about roses but still!), and she looks just so healthy - and it seems that the flowers keep coming through the season.... what's not to like?
On my list!
And by the way, those cauliflowers are majestic......
Thanks Hugo for contributing this great perspective of your and Pip’s journey and all that you have achieved. I look forward to continuing to be a part of the journey at Moorfield
What a lovely read Hugo. Thank you for sharing it with us. Please give Pip all my best healing thoughts and 💖🌸, I am so sorry she’s had such a setback but I imagine she will only emerge stronger than ever. 🌿
A lovely , interesting and informative read. Much enjoyed Hugo. Thank you for your efforts. And hear, hear to Sally Homes. She and Loiuse Odier are my favourties. Get well soon Pip. and enjoy your rest.
Thank you Hugo, I really enjoyed your story. I have been reading out many parts of it to my husband and garden partner - so familiar to us. Developing, creating, establishing and maintaining a garden is a wonderful shared journey- with many ups and downs. Please pass on our best wishes to lovely Pip. Looking forward as always to the continuing journey. 🌹
Well done Hugo, that was a good read and it's interesting to hear your perspective. Here at our place Cathy has become the accidental gardener and gardening was never her thing either but she has absorbed plant names via osmosis and after more than 35 years together she knows far more than even she thinks. Hang in there and get well soon Pip, until then Hugo get digging....
Hahah. Completely understand absorbing plant names by osmosis. I surprise myself sometimes with how much knowledge has seeped in. Thanks for reading Michael. Hugo.
Lovely! Thank you for writing. Sometimes we need a little shove from our nearest and dearest to do something we’re really very good at! As I read I found myself back in the share houses of my 20’s remembering slow hung over mornings- with the occasional one spent outside in our tiny garden doing just a little bit of weeding and planting to feel good. And I agree regarding the figs. Amazing or horrible there’s no ok ones.
Thanks Lara. As I sit in bed and nurse a slight hangover from a night out with some old friends last night, contemplating all there is to do in the garden today I feel closer to 22 year old me than ever before. Hugo. Xo
